One living record

A PDF is finished the moment it is written. Your premises is not.

People change, layouts change and official guidance develops. Muster preserves what was agreed while making the current position obvious.

01

Settle scope

Record the busiest realistic headcount, use and tier, with the reasoning kept beside the answer.

02

Write four procedures

Draft evacuation, invacuation, lockdown and communication around the building you actually operate.

03

Brief the right people

Keep a register of staff and volunteers, with each briefing tied to the exact procedure version they received.

04

Practise and improve

Log walk-throughs and exercises, what they found, and the actions that followed.

05

Keep it current

Schedule reviews and see when a procedure change means people should be briefed again.

06

Show the work

Generate a branded evidence pack and export the underlying records in open formats whenever you need them.

Why prepare now

Avoid the expensive version of the same work.

The SIA expects the Act to come into force in spring 2027, with the exact date confirmed in advance. The notification system is not open yet. That makes this the useful middle: late enough to work from published Home Office guidance, early enough to involve the people who know the building.

Use ordinary committee meetings, policy reviews and staff sessions. Find what already exists before commissioning more. Test procedures before a deadline turns every disagreement into an emergency.

To be plain about it: Muster does not certify compliance, replace the responsible person or make free official guidance unnecessary. It keeps the administrative work coherent and alive.
